1. Private Reference Service
Klamath Falls Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public-records offices, indexes, and historical collections. It does not host official government records and has no affiliation with Klamath County, the City of Klamath Falls, Oregon courts, or any records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful personal research, family history, civic context, consumer safety, and other lawful purposes. Do not use information to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, harm, impersonate, or invade another person's privacy. Do not try to obtain restricted material or bypass an office's access rules.
3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The service and any information reached through it may not be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. Third-Party Websites
Official agencies, libraries, courts, and archives control the outside websites linked here. Their terms, fees, access conditions, and privacy rules govern use of their systems. We do not control their availability or content.
5. No Warranty
The reference is provided as available. Record indexes, maps, links, and collection descriptions can change, contain gaps, or be inaccurate. Confirm any material fact with the office that created or holds the record.
6. Liability Limits
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the service, reliance on a linked record, a third-party interruption, or an unauthorized use of information by another person.
7. Your Responsibility
You agree to protect us from claims, losses, and reasonable costs caused by your violation of these terms, unlawful use of the service, or infringement of another person's rights.
8. Intellectual Property
The site design and original explanatory content are protected by applicable law. Official records, screenshots, agency publications, and linked resources remain subject to the rights and terms of their respective owners or custodians.
9. Changes to Terms
We may amend these terms when needed. The updated version applies when posted. Using the service after publication indicates acceptance of the revision.
10. Access Suspension
We may limit or end access when we reasonably believe use is unlawful, abusive, harmful, technically disruptive, or inconsistent with these terms.
11. Oregon Law
Oregon law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Oregon Public Records Law, ORS chapter 192, governs public-record access procedures for public bodies, while record-specific confidentiality laws and custodian rules can limit disclosure.
12. Severability
If one provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent allowed by law.
13. Questions
Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about an official record, fee, or correction should go directly to the relevant custodian.
